These past months I worked as a photographer in Pokhara.

I met Dikshya, a woman from a remote and hidden village deep in Nepal. Through the support of the organization EWN (@3sistersadventuretrek), she now has access to new opportunities. Possibilities that are slowly shaping a very different future… one that is truly in her own hands.

What inspires me most is her spirit.

Her curiosity. Her courage. Her hunger to learn and to discover more.

She doesn’t hesitate to carry a heavy backpack and climb snow-covered mountains. She moves forward with determination, strength, and quiet confidence.

Dikshya is not just a story, she is inspiration.

And she stands alongside so many other women who are choosing a different path… a future where they are the ones deciding where they go.

A future shaped by their own choices.

As a documentary photographer in Nepal, I feel grateful to witness and share these stories. Moments of women empowerment in Nepal, resilience, and transformation.

Nepal, your lands introduced me to your people, and your people deeply moved my heart.

Spending those months wandering through your mountains reminded me, again and again, of everything I love about the profession I chose.

Being away for so long is never easy. I have to admit, arriving in these lands was both physically and mentally challenging. But step by step, encounter after encounter, my heart slowly began to open. And somewhere along the way, those quiet conversations with light returned... the moments where I could truly pause, observe, and photograph the people I met along the journey.

Today, I look back on those days with gratitude. I return to them like one returns to a beautiful memory.
And here, I share a small fragment of everything my eyes witnessed.

There are journeys that are measured in distance, and others that are measured in courage.

In Nepal, I had the privilege of walking alongside women who left their villages behind to train as trekking guides. Stepping into a world that asks them to be strong, independent, and fearless in ways that go far beyond the mountains they climb.

Some came here hoping to support their families.
Some dream of seeing places beyond the valleys where they were born.
Others simply want something many of us take for granted: the freedom to make their own decisions.

We climbed steep trails together, carrying gear, sharing silence, laughter, and exhaustion. And somewhere along those paths, I realized this was never only about reaching the top. It was about witnessing what happens when women choose to rewrite the story that was expected of them.

Every step they took was intentional.
Every decision. Where to place a foot, how to descend, when to keep going despite the pain. Their training in the mountains mirrors the choices they are making in life: uncertain, demanding, but full of possibility.

It was an honor to document these moments.
To photograph not only their strength, but their tenderness, humor, doubts, and determination.

Thank you for letting me walk beside you.
Thank you for catching me when the trail became too steep.
Thank you for teaching me that resilience can look like many things… a steady breath, a shared meal, a quiet smile before sunrise.

I came to Nepal to tell stories through photography.
I leave carrying pieces of theirs with me.

How did photography become a life that keeps moving across borders, cultures, and stories?

For me, it began with something simple. A casual conversation with a friend about an education fund from @giz_colombia . I applied with little hope. It felt almost too extraordinary to be real. And yet, I received it. I treasured it so deeply that I never let it go.

What started as one opportunity became a path.

These funds have taken me across landscapes and communities I could have never imagined. They have asked everything from me. Physically, mentally, and spiritually. To live in so many places, always arriving as a learner. Always a student of life and of every person who crosses my path.

With every journey, I feel myself becoming smaller. Just a grain of sand, yet at the same time wanting to go farther. To understand more. To share more.
My path began in the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta, Colombia, where organizations working to protect knowledge and Indigenous territories first opened the door for me. That experience taught me the responsibility of arriving with respect. To observe, to listen, and to understand before creating. Thank you @jaguarsiembra and @fundacionprosierra

Later, on an island, I learned the importance of arriving with a plan but holding it lightly. Every place brings its own challenges. Sometimes you must dismantle everything you thought you knew and rebuild it with deeper awareness. That island brought both beauty and difficulty... and invaluable lessons. Thank you @fecisla

Then came Vietnam, where my world expanded even further. There, I experienced a kind of creative freedom I had never known. Walking through rice fields day after day, I was pushed to grow, to experiment, and to trust my vision. It’s hard to find enough words to express my gratitude for that time and the people who made it possible. Thank you @green.local.travel

And now: Nepal.

What will this next mission teach me?
Who will I meet along the way?

I don’t know yet.
I only trust that I am exactly where I’m meant to be. With my camera, my boots, and the willingness to keep learning from everything and everyone.

That afternoon at Tempelhof reminded us that it doesn’t take much to create something beautiful.

A piece of plastic, the wind, Berlin’s open sky.

Well, maybe it does take something:
the right people.

It wasn’t an afternoon of overthinking,
but of floating instead.

Like plastic carried by the wind,
letting things simply happen.

How do you end up with such a magnificent team?
It felt like a perfect alignment of planets. From the studio to the model, the brightest jewels, makeup that cared for every tiny detail, the beauty of the clothes and the styling, the sharp eye for light, the hands that helped get the camera ready and the computer to cooperate.

I was incredibly lucky to be surrounded by the best people on this shoot. I hope many more collaborations and creative spaces are on the way. What a wonder everything that happened. It felt so human, so beautiful, so fun.

I promise to make a less weird playlist next time. I’m learning… thank you for your patience, haha!
